Language should INCLUDE, not exclude.

"Guys" is not an inclusive default.

"Guys" does not mean everyone.

"Guys" only feels gender-neutral if you're used to being centered.

If you're used to being the default.

If you have never been made to feel excluded.

Overlooked.

Unwelcome.

Invisible because you exist in a place that was not built with you in mind as the default setting.

Words like "guys" are often treated as universal, but they are not neutral for everyone. Inclusivity starts with recognizing who is in the room, and who has always been here.

Not everyone on the internet feels included by the term "guys".

Women and other non-"guys" ARE ON THE INTERNET.

We've been here all along.

We build.

We code.

We mentor.

We lead.

We BELONG anywhere we want to be.

We are WORTHY of being included.

Language should reflect that reality.

Language can evolve. You can choose to evolve with it.
